The daily offerings from our VBS kids toward donating a tree to the Habitat for Humanity House totaled $141.45. Due to the larger than anticipated amount, we are going to buy a tree and additional landscape bushes. Our VBS kids will help plant them sometime this fall. Great job, KIDS!!
The non-perishable items collected under our Baobab tree totaled 180 lbs. of food for the community food shelf.
What an incredible outpouring! Again, great job, KIDS!!
Many families helped make VBS such a great success. Please accept a huge THANK YOU from the VBS organizers! And, of course, THANKS and PRAISE to our Awesome God for opening our hearts and minds to offer time, talent and material gifts!!

God’s Great Get-Together

Baobab Blast is the theme for our VBS, and this an open invitation to be a part of God’s Great Get-Together and all of the children in Waseca are invited! Set under the impressive baobab tree, kids will have the opportunity to hear the Word of God, be amazed at God’s wildlife creations, and be a part of a supportive community.

This will be a life-changing experience for your kids as you gather together as a community and grow in faith in Christ. As the sun rises and sets on the savannah, so, too, will faith and relationships grow as kids explore connections with God, family, friends, and others around the world. Get ready to experience the most amazing community get-together under the sun.

God Calls Us to Community: Make New Friends

At Baobab Blast, kids get a consistent message of God’s unconditional love. Every activity helps kids understand how to build nurturing relationships with God, family, and others. At Baobab Blast, building relationships is not just a theory; it’s a place where meaningful friendships happen. Plus, when kids participate in the mission project, Africa Jam, they learn how to help expand God’s community.

Bible Is at the Center

During the entire week at Baobab Blast, interesting Bible stories create the framework for the day, lead discussions about faith, help the kids develop relationships, and guide them to realize their full potential as members of God’s community. Not only is the Bible at the center across the week’s program, with Baobab Blast’s engaging activities and materials, kids are inspired to take the Bible messages home and spread the Word.

At Baobab Blast, the critters, activity sites, storytelling DVD, trading cards, Bible Books, music, and easy decorating ideas help you create an exciting, energy-filled experience for your kids. At Baobab Blast, the Daily Themes are interwoven into all the activities in surprising new ways so that when the kids are learning, playing, and dancing, they are experiencing the joy of living in God’s community.

What is a Baobab?

Baobab (bä´ōbăb´´) is a gigantic tree found in Africa that creates its own ecosystem. A baobab tree’s hollowed-out trunk, leaves, foliage, nectar, fruit, and bark provide basic life needs for many different creatures. For two months out of the year, when the rain falls and the grasses are green in the African Savannah, the baobab tree produces leaves and flowers. The enormous tree can grow to 98 feet tall and 36 feet wide. Baobab trees are one of the world’s oldest life forms. Some baobab can store up to 120,000 gallons of water from the rainy season to sustain themselves through the dry times. The leaves of the Baobab tree are edible, and the fruit contains more vitamin C than an orange and more calcium than cow's milk. The baobab tree also serves as a meeting place for many people to gather, discuss, and share stories.
